Bordeaux for FreeBSD coming soon
Over the last couple day's I have been working on the Bordeaux for FreeBSD 7 port. We now have everything compiling and running but a lot more testing needs to be done before it's ready for a final release. Internet Explorer, Steam and Office 2003 are the only applications ive gotten around to testing thus far. The good news is everything that I have tested works fairly well on FreeBSD.

The Eureka Project
If embedded maps are required on a Drupal site, the solution is barely more complicated than adding and enabling the gmap module with a registered Google Maps API key. The key, available for any web site that is free to consumers, is required to use the free beta service from Google and is valid for all directories of (only) the registered site.

Unit Tests : General Rule #1
Get a second opinion!
Several of the SimpleTest unit tests failed with this Drupal installation. However, much consoling came by simply running unit tests a second time.

Tutorial: Inserting Images in your LSNet Submissions

1. Login using your LSNet username and password.
2. Select "Create Content" and for content type, choose "Image." When the Create Image page appears, give your image a title.
3. Choose from the list of image galleries with the appropriate tag(s). For example, I saved this image at left in the image galleries "Humor", "Children", "History", and "Books." Hold down the "SHIFT" key to select multiple galleries.
4. Hit the Browse button, search your computer for the image you want, and upload it to the LSNet server. Remember your image filename so that you can find it on the server later.
5. Make sure the "Promote to Front Page" option under "Publishing Options" at the bottom is unchecked, unless you want to publish only an image to the web site with no text! Click "Submit."
6. Select "Create content" again, choose Blog, Story, or Page, depending on what you're submitting.
7. Open Rich Text Editor (Fckeditor program) and put all of your text in the box, either by directly entering it or by cutting-and-pasting it from somewhere else. When you are finished:
8. Click the little postcard on the FCKEditor toolbar, "Insert/Edit Image."

Bread 102: Oven Sour Dough Bread
I would like to urge people to make bread at home once in awhile. It is not THAT hard, although I am getting a machine assist from a Bread Machine dough cycle. What I am struck by, and want to share with the wider audience, is how much richer, filling, and more fulfilling home-made bread is as compared to not only sandwich bread, but also the fancier deli-style bread. Supposedly it is the same stuff, but somehow it's not. This is the stuff that made history, inspired legends, and fed mankind.
